Sin las pruebas apropiadas, muchos mueren o si por casualidad se les diagnostica, se las arreglan de maneras extraordinarias y por medios inimaginables. Este corto documental nos ofrece una nueva perspectiva a la realidad del cuidado de la diabetes Tipo 1 en el mundo y nos deja inquietudes persistentes sobre qu&eacute; significa ser un humano con esta enfermedad cr&oacute;nica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&laquo;Nuestro trabajo en Iquitos era bastante simple&raquo;. Llevamos a 26 chicos de Estados Unidos para construir una escuela y alimentar a las aldeas, orar con la gente y ayudar a conectarlos con las personas que pueden brindarles cuidados a largo plazo. Esta ciudad, y sus alrededores, es el lugar m&aacute;s grande en el mundo que no tiene acceso por carretera, solo por bote o por aire. Por lo tanto, pasamos varios d&iacute;as en el Amazonas, en bote&hellip; y llevamos suministros (arroz, az&uacute;car, aceite) y ayuda a estos pueblos remotos. Tambi&eacute;n invertimos muchos d&iacute;as para construir una escuela de tres pisos en la jungla donde ense&ntilde;an espa&ntilde;ol, liderazgo, Biblia y mucho m&aacute;s. Los jefes de las aldeas env&iacute;an a sus hijos a esta escuela, a veces m&aacute;s de 8 d&iacute;as en barco, para que pasen tres a&ntilde;os estudiando aqu&iacute;. Luego, el hijo vuelve al pueblo y lleva todo lo que ha aprendido. Es una gran forma de construir en el Amazonas, porque si un barco lleno de gringos (como nosotros) aparece de la nada, los aldeanos se esparcen en el bosque de la selva y no regresan durante semanas. Nunca han visto gente blanca y no conf&iacute;an en nosotros. Por lo tanto, hicimos todo lo posible para trabajar con las familias locales como Pablo, Israel y Jennifer Arimborgo porque ellos han creado una relaci&oacute;n en los &uacute;ltimos 30 a&ntilde;os con estas personas.
