{"id":33251,"date":"2018-09-10T22:24:20","date_gmt":"2018-09-10T22:24:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beyondtype2.org\/?post_type=resources&#038;p=33251"},"modified":"2024-12-01T23:41:50","modified_gmt":"2024-12-01T23:41:50","slug":"estadisticas-sobre-dt1","status":"publish","type":"resources","link":"https:\/\/beyondtype1.org\/es\/estadisticas-sobre-dt1\/","title":{"rendered":"Estad\u00edsticas sobre diabetes tipo 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&iquest;Por qu&eacute; revisar las estad&iacute;sticas?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las tasas de incidencia de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/beyondtype1.org\/type-1-diabetes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>diabetes tipo 1<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> est&aacute;n aumentando en todo el mundo. Las estad&iacute;sticas espec&iacute;ficas de ciertos pa&iacute;ses nos permiten estudiar &aacute;reas que pueden estar experimentando un fuerte aumento en los diagn&oacute;sticos de diabetes tipo 1, o incluso un ascenso gradual que indica que algo est&aacute; cambiando en ese lugar. Mirar la diabetes tipo 1 a trav&eacute;s de la lente de las estad&iacute;sticas tambi&eacute;n permite que los que vivimos con diabetes todos los d&iacute;as nos separemos de algo personal y emocional, centr&aacute;ndonos en los hechos y en una imagen m&aacute;s amplia.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Estados Unidos&nbsp;<sup>1<\/sup><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aproximadamente <\/span><b>1,6 millones de<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> estadounidenses vive con diabetes tipo 1. &nbsp;(CDC National Diabetes Statistics Report, 2020)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para el 2050, se espera que a <\/span><b>5 millones de<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas se les diagnostique diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un estimado de <\/span><b>64.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas son diagnosticadas con diabetes tipo 1 cada a&ntilde;o. &nbsp;(Rogers, et al. 2017. BMC Medicine 15: 199)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>200.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas menores de 20 a&ntilde;os tienen diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre 2011 y 2012, <\/span><b>17.900<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ni&ntilde;os y adolescentes menores de 20 a&ntilde;os fueron diagnosticados con diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hubo un <\/span><b>aumento del 21 %<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en las personas diagnosticadas con diabetes tipo 1 entre 2001 y 2009 que eran menores de 20 a&ntilde;os.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Para el 2050, se espera que <\/span><b>600.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas menores de 20 a&ntilde;os tengan diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre las personas menores de 20 a&ntilde;os, <\/span><b>las personas blancas no hispanas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tuvieron las tasas m&aacute;s altas de nuevos diagn&oacute;sticos de diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M&aacute;s de <\/span><b>$16 mil millones<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en gastos de atenci&oacute;n m&eacute;dica asociados con la diabetes tipo 1 y p&eacute;rdida de ingresos cada a&ntilde;o. &nbsp;(ADA 2018. Diab Care 41: 917-928)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menos de <\/span><b>un tercio de las personas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> con diabetes tipo 1 logran niveles de control de glucosa en la sangre de forma constante.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Datos preliminares de la encuesta del acceso y suministro de 2018 de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/beyondtype1.org\/grantee\/t1international\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>T1International<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dice que <\/span><b>1 de cada 4 encuestados en los EE. UU.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ha racionado la insulina debido al costo.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Reino Unido<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aproximadamente <\/span><b>1 de cada 430-530<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas menores de 19 a&ntilde;os tienen diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De los 3,7 millones de personas que viven con diabetes, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diabetes.org.uk\/resources-s3\/2017-11\/diabetes-key-stats-guidelines-april2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>DiabetesUK<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> estima que el <\/span><b>10 % tiene diabetes tipo 1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eso se traduce en unas <\/span><b>400.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> personas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>29.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de los que viven con diabetes tipo 1 son <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/jdrf.org.uk\/information-support\/about-type-1-diabetes\/facts-and-figures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>ni&ntilde;os<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Reino Unido ocup&oacute; el quinto lugar entre los pa&iacute;ses en cuanto a la tasa de incidencia de diabetes tipo 1 en ni&ntilde;os de 0 a 14 a&ntilde;os de edad, con una tasa de <\/span><b>24,5 de 100.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El <\/span><b>costo promedio de la diabetes por mes es del 1,4 %<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, seg&uacute;n las respuestas recibidas para la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.t1international.com\/insulin-and-supply-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>encuesta<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de T1International de 2016.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Canad&aacute;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>M&aacute;s de 300.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> canadienses <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jdrf.ca\/news-and-media\/fact-sheets\/type-1-diabetes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>viven con la diabetes tipo 1<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De los que viven con diabetes tipo 1, <\/span><b>33.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> son <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diabetes-children.ca\/en\/type-1-diabetes\/t1d-t2d\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>ni&ntilde;os de 5 a 18 a&ntilde;os<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La tasa de incidencia de diabetes tipo 1 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phac-aspc.gc.ca\/cd-mc\/publications\/diabetes-diabete\/facts-figures-faits-chiffres-2011\/pdf\/facts-figures-faits-chiffres-eng.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>entre los ni&ntilde;os de 1 a 9 a&ntilde;os<\/b><\/a> <b>aument&oacute; durante un per&iacute;odo de diez a&ntilde;os<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de 1998 a 2009 de 0,1 % a 0,2 %.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canad&aacute; style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tasa de incidencia aument&oacute; de 10,9 por cada 100.000 entre los ni&ntilde;os de 0 a 14 a&ntilde;os en 1990 a <\/span><b>22,5 por cada 100.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en 2009.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La revista New Zealand Medical Journal public&oacute; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzma.org.nz\/journal\/read-the-journal\/all-issues\/2010-2019\/2015\/vol-128-no-1424-30-october-2015\/6707\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>un estudio de m&aacute;s del 7 %, con un promedio de A1c del 9,2 %.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Argentina<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aproximadamente <\/span><b>2 millones <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de personas viven con diabetes en <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.diabetesatlas.org\/across-the-globe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Argentina<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La tasa de incidencia de diabetes tipo 1 entre los ni&ntilde;os de 0 a 14 a&ntilde;os es de alrededor de <\/span><b>7 por cada 100.000<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, clasificando a Argentina en el puesto 53 entre los pa&iacute;ses seg&uacute;n las <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.diabetes.org.uk\/about_us\/news_landing_page\/uk-has-worlds-5th-highest-rate-of-type-1-diabetes-in-children\/list-of-countries-by-incidence-of-type-1-diabetes-ages-0-to-14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>tasas de incidencia<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">De acuerdo con <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/diabetes\/country-profiles\/arg_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>la OMS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, las <\/span><b>100.000 ni&ntilde;os<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en la India viven <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC4413385\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>con la diabetes tipo 1<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.diabetesatlas.org\/IDF_Diabetes_Atlas_8e_interactive_EN\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Seg&uacute;n la Federaci&oacute;n Internacional de Diabetes (FID)<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, la India figura entre <\/span><b>los 10 primeros pa&iacute;ses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en cuanto al n&uacute;mero de personas menores de 20 a&ntilde;os con diabetes tipo 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seg&uacute;n los <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.t1international.com\/insulin-and-supply-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>datos de 2016 recopilados por T1International<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, un frasco de Novolog tiene un costo de bolsillo de <\/span><b>$22 USD<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en promedio para los encuestados.<\/span><\/li>\n<li target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>regi&oacute;n de Asia sudoriental de la OMS<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que tiene una prevalencia de diabetes tipo 1 de
