Dooley Family
Greg & Kristina Dooley have been active in the type 1 diabetes community since 2012. On August 28th of that year one of their 2-year-old triplets, Isabella (“”Isa””), was diagnosed with t1d while the family was living in Mexico City. When Isa was diagnosed, The Dooleys made it their mission to make a difference by raising awareness and sharing their daughter’s story with anyone that would listen. They are contributing writers to several sites including Beyond Type 1, The Mighty, and T1 Everyday Magic and have been featured on several type 1 diabetes podcasts including Diabetes Connections, The Beta Cell Podcast, Diabetics Doing Things, and The Juicebox Podcast. Greg currently serves on the Beyond Type 1 Leadership Council and Isa is a Beyond Type 1 Ambassador. In 2017, she was one of ten children with type 1 who joined Beyond Type 1 Co-Founder, Nick Jonas, onstage as he received the HERO Award at the Radio Disney Music Awards. That same year, The Dooleys were honored to welcome the Bike Beyond team during their summer stop in Cleveland. Today the family makes their home in Ohio and Isa’s brother, Max, and sister, Mia, are her biggest cheerleaders, often serving as spokespeople when other kids ask about their sister’s type 1 diabetes and “”devices.”” Advocacy, for the Dooleys, is truly a family effort!
