Gavin Lewis was diagnosed with Type 1 in 2010, at the age of six. A few years later, Gavin’s passion for acting emerged. He began his career on stage in his home state of Utah, earning top honors at the Utah Shakespeare Festival playing Arthur in King John in 2013. Since then, he has accumulated a diverse range of film and television credits, including Little Fires Everywhere opposite Reese Witherspoon, as well as NCIS: Los Angeles, Roswell: New Mexico, No Good Nick, The Kicks, Maximum Ride, Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie and Ominous. In 2018, Gavin starred in Netflix’s original comedy series The Prince of Peoria, playing the title role of “Prince Emil.” He is particularly proud of this character, who as many young viewers noticed, is Type 1 like Gavin and often sports his continuous glucose monitor on screen.

Outside of acting, Gavin is passionately involved in raising Type 1 diabetes education and awareness. He strives to lead by example and change what it means to live with diabetes.
