Nancy D’Hondt, RPh, CDE, FAADE
Nancy is a clinical pharmacist and certified diabetes educator working at Ascension St John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. She has helped in establishing the Ascension St John hospital inpatient protocols and policies around glycemic management, and assists in protocol implementation, revision and staff education. Nancy also provides outpatient self-management through the hospital diabetes education program and at a local independent pharmacy.
Her involvement in the diabetes landscape spans 20 years where she has served on local and national committees for the American Diabetes Association (ADA), JDRF, American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
Nancy has helped to author several AADE publications to include position statements, white papers and is a contributing author for the AADE Art and Science desk reference. She has presented nationally on topics related to diabetes and cardiometabolic disease as well as served as an editor for Clinical Diabetes, a publication of the ADA. Nancy was a member of the AADE National Board of Directors and provided leadership for the organization as the 2017 President of the Board.
She holds a B.S. in pharmacy from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI; achieved her distinction as a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2008 and was recognized as a fellow of AADE in 2011
