“A Mindful (Half) Day with Diabetes Sangha” will be led by Heather Nielsen, LPC, CHWC, and a person living with type 1 diabetes since 1997. This retreat takes place on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 8 am to 1 pm PT / 11 am to 4 pm ET, and  offers a unique opportunity to explore mindfulness in the context of living with diabetes.

During this half-day retreat, you’ll be guided through practices and teachings designed to help you develop compassion and awareness around your experience with diabetes. Heather will lead you in meditations and discussions that encourage “being with” diabetes in a mindful and non-judgmental way. Together, we’ll explore how to engage with our thoughts, feelings, and sensations without grasping or denying and celebrate the strength and resilience required to manage diabetes.
