"First time with an arm pump site! A few nerves were involved but I am so proud of her for being the little brave girl she always is! It was a bit of an easier bribe since we found an Etsy shop that makes cute sleeves for her pump!
Upon diagnosis an arm site wasn’t super realistic as she doesn’t have a ton of real estate to work with but she’s put on some weight these past few weeks and we are giving this spot a shot! It’s important for her to try new spots other than her tummy since the pump site is changed every three days and scar tissue will eventually develop. 💙"

In January 1922, a young Canadian patient named Leonard Thompson was 14-years-old, 65 pounds, and dying when he received the first famous doses. Despite having an allergic reaction to the dog-insulin, he regained his strength quickly.

We are working closely with our industry and community partners to find, establish, and elevate resources. If you know of any additional emergency resources for people with diabetes, please share in the comments below. We’ll be sharing ongoing updates to our stories.
We encourage everyone impacted to get in quick contact with your healthcare provider. LA hospitals are open and your HCP should be able to help with new prescriptions for out-of-area pharmacies. Beyond immediate emergency supplies, reach out to your health insurance provider for support in replenishing any lost medications or supplies. Having trouble? Let us know.

Tell us 👉 where is the most awkward place your CGM alarm has gone off? How do you respond?
👉 Depending on the situation, do what you’re comfortable with/able to. If you feel you can quiet the alarms and manage your blood sugar while staying right where you are, then we encourage you to!
👉 If you prefer to leave the room or environment you’re in, you have the right to do that too. Whatever works best for you!
