“Last year on Presidents Day of 2020, I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes,” Anna Williams said.
Since then, Anna and her family have faced many ups and downs but this disease hasn’t stopped her.
“It’s just a disease. It’s not taking control of your life, it’s just a part of your life,” Anna Williams said.
While learning how to adapt, Anna continued school with a 4.0 gpa, played varsity soccer and managed to secure two full ride scholarships to the University of Louisville.
And if you think that’s impressive, she’s been working to become an advocate for chronic illness, which also landed her another five thousand dollar scholarship from an organization called “Beyond Type One.”
