Nick Jonas received the Hero Award at the Radio Disney Music Awards where 10 children with Type 1 diabetes accompanied him on stage when he accepted it. One of the children was Ella DeNiro, Robert DeNiro's granddaughter. The award was given for his philanthropic work for Type 1 diabetes with the founding of his nonprofit, Beyond Type 1.
