BeyondType1.org Now Available in Portuguese
San Carlos, California, March 15, 2021 — Beyond Type 1 is excited to announce today the launch of BeyondType1.org in Portuguese, making critical diabetes resources available to the more than 270 million Portuguese speakers around the world. The new site is in Brazilian Portuguese, and Beyond Type 1’s work expanding via partnerships will focus predominantly in Brazil. Diabetes resources, stories, and news are now available in Portuguese at pt.beyondtype1.org.
The launch of pt.beyondtype1.org is made possible through the JDRF – Beyond Type 1 Alliance. Beyond Type 1 and JDRF will work together to continue to grow the library of information and stories published in Portuguese and to share this new resource with the global Type 1 diabetes community.
In addition to translating relevant resources from Beyond Type 1’s existing library, the new site will house a collection of unique content for Portuguese speakers. This includes both personal stories and resources for people living with Type 1 diabetes, created for and by the Portuguese-speaking diabetes community.
“There is great work being done for people with diabetes in the Portuguese-speaking world. Beyond Type 1 is excited to partner with existing organizations in Brazil to amplify their work and fill gaps that exist through online diabetes resources and community,” said Mariana Gomez, Director of Emerging Markets at Beyond Type 1.
Today’s announcement represents the organization’s latest step in serving the global diabetes community with web platforms available in multiple languages. Beyond Type 1 launched in 2015 in English and added Beyond Type 1 en Español in 2017. In 2020, we launched BeyondType1.org in Italian, German, Swedish, Dutch, and French. Beyond Type 1 will continue to publish in these languages and anticipates adding additional platforms to unite the global diabetes community online.
