Expanded pairing options for MiniMed 780G
The MiniMed 780G system can now pair with both the Guardian 4 sensor and Simplera Sync sensor, giving patients more options for managing their diabetes.
Simplera Sync sensor overview
The Simplera Sync is a disposable glucose sensor that doesn’t require fingerstick calibrations or overtape and features a simple two-step insertion process for convenience.
Simplera Sync and SmartGuard Technology
Simplera Sync provides glucose readings every five minutes, and when paired with the MiniMed 780G, SmartGuard Technology allows for prediction, adjustment, and correction of glucose levels around the clock.
Meal Detection Technology for hyperglycemia prevention
The MiniMed 780G’s Meal Detection technology helps prevent hyperglycemia by identifying quickly rising blood sugar during meals and automatically delivering extra insulin if needed.
Real-world benefits of the MiniMed 780G system
Real-world data shows that users of the MiniMed 780G system often exceed the time-in-range target with optimal settings, with an average of 75% time in range across all users. It’s also the only automated insulin system with an extended infusion set option that can last up to seven days, reducing injections by 96% compared to daily injection therapies.
Commitment to diabetes innovation
Que Dallara, executive vice president and president of Medtronic Diabetes, stated that the company is dedicated to creating innovations that simplify life for people living with diabetes, allowing them to focus less on managing their condition.
Simplera Sync launch in the United States
Que Dallara expressed excitement about advancing diabetes care with expanded glucose monitoring options, including the Simplera Sync sensor, which is planned to be introduced to people with diabetes in the United States.
Soft launch of Simplera Sync
A soft launch will begin in the U.S. later this year.
