On March 4, Tandem Diabetes Care, maker of the Mobi insulin pump, announced an expanded compatibility with Android phones for the first time ever with the Tandem Mobi mobile app.

This is great news for people living with diabetes, and expands the number of insulin-pumping options available to people who prefer Android phones over other types of smartphones.

“By expanding to Android, we’re broadening our reach to bring the benefits of Tandem Mobi to even more people living with diabetes,” said John Sheridan, president and chief executive officer. “It’s an exciting milestone that underscores our commitment to delivering choice in diabetes technology, enabling more people to experience the convenience and flexibility that Tandem Mobi provides.”

What is Tandem Mobi?

Tandem Mobi is an insulin pump powered by an automated insulin delivery (AID) system, the Control IQ+ technology. Although there are now many, the Tandem Mobi is one of the smallest AID systems.

How does Tandem Mobi work?

Tandem Mobi uses continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology to read blood sugar levels and make automatic insulin dose adjustments throughout the day.

This can help relieve some of the everyday mental and physical burden that people with diabetes experience.

Can I use Tandem Mobi with my Android?

Yes! The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Android version of the Tandem Mobi app in November 2025, and there was a limited release this past December in the U.S.

The original Tandem Mobi system was launched for compatible iPhones in 2024. Now, with expanded support for both iPhone and Android phones, the system lets you manage your diabetes discreetly through the Tandem Mobi app, without requiring an additional device.

How do I get the Tandem Mobi app?

If you’re already a Tandem Mobi user, you can download the Tandem Mobi app from Google Play for compatible smartphones, including Google Pixel models 6 through 10 and Samsung Galaxy models S21 through S25.
