Kimberly Ross
Kimberly was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 11 years old. Kimberly’s older sister, Jennifer, was diagnosed when she was 6 years old. After seeing the impact T1D had on her own family, as well as on other parents and families, Kimberly created Safesittings, the first online diabetes babysitting service, when she was 14 years old. Originally, Safesittings was a local service in New York, and shortly expanded into a national, online service to try to meet the high demand across the country. Safesittings has helped thousands of families who have children with diabetes and will continue to expand with Beyond Type 1’s newly employed resources. Kimberly graduated from Dartmouth College in 2011 and currently attends the Harvard Business School.
