Amanda works as an international K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) educator and consultant. She designs innovative and creative science learning programs for schools around the world. In Summer of 2017, she biked 4200 miles across America with Team Bike Beyond. On the ride, she fell in love with one of the other riders. The two are now married and live in Toronto with their diabetic alert dog, Apollo. Both Amanda and her partner have had Type 1 Diabetes for 15 years. Amanda values the strength of the diabetic community, and cares about education and access to insulin. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys red wine, hot yoga, gardening, and astrology.
